Maternity Nurse Checklist: what does she check?

Day 1 after birth: this must be ready when the maternity nurse arrives.

Preparing for the maternity period

In the Netherlands, every mother receives at least 24 hours of maternity care during the first 8 days after delivery. The maternity nurse works at your home and needs a safe workspace. According to Dutch labor regulations (Arbo), the nurse may refuse to work if the workspace doesn't meet requirements. Make sure everything is ready before your due date.

Tip: plan ahead

Download the BabyProof app and check off everything in the maternity checklist before week 36. This way you'll know for sure everything is ready when labor starts. The maternity nurse will be impressed — and you can focus on what truly matters: enjoying your baby.
